What is the shelf life of my sterile substrate? All sterile substrate should store well for several months out of direct sunlight. We do recommend waiting 2 weeks before using, so if there are any issues they'll present themselves prior to use. Please get in touch if there are any problems with your sterile substrate (info@northspore.com). Ideally, your substrate should be used within a month of receipt. Long term storage can affect the moisture content.
How many cc’s of liquid culture or spores per injection port bag? For efficient grows, use 2.5 ccs or mL per injection port bag. You can certainly use more per bag, which can speed up colonization. When working with spore syringes or liquid culture, the best sterile technique will use the entire syringe in one inoculation session. We do not recommend using an entire syringe in one injection port bag as it can be too much liquid in one container.
