Should wood rest before inoculation?

You can let your logs rest for a few days to a week before inoculation to allow the cells to die and some moisture to evaporate leaving room for the mycelium to grow through the wood. Keep in mind though, the longer wood sits out before inoculation, the more likely it will become contaminated or dry out. We recommend waiting no more than 4 weeks.
